Elden Ring Nightreign expands the brutal beauty of the Lands Between with a twist, now, you're not just tied to a single Tarnished warrior. Swapping between characters lets you explore different playstyles, unique Ultimate Arts, and tactical team builds. Whether you're tackling challenges solo or joining a team for co-op expeditions, knowing how to change characters efficiently is key.

When Can You Change Characters?
You can’t change characters mid-expedition, so make sure you’re back at a safe hub before attempting a swap. The two main places to switch characters are:
- Character Selection area
- Training Grounds
Both are found within the Roundtable Hold, your central hub in Nightreign.
Option 1: Character Selection
Location: South-east of the Great Site of Grace, near a suit of armor.Look for: A bell next to a pedestal, this is the gateway to your character roster.

Steps:
- Head to the Character Collection near the suit of armor.
- Interact with the bell when prompted.
- The Character Selection Menu will appear.
- Browse available characters like Wylder, Guardian, or any others you’ve unlocked.
- Highlight your choice and confirm the change with the command shown at the bottom of the screen.
This is the quickest way to swap builds, especially if you’re prepping for a specific mission or want to try out a new combat style.

Option 2: Training Grounds
Location: North-east of the Great Site of Grace, also within the Roundtable Hold. Purpose: More than just training, you can switch characters here too.
Steps:
- Enter the Sparring Grounds area.
- Open the Sparring Settings Menu (on PlayStation, this is done with the Touchpad).
- Navigate to the Character tab.
- Highlight the character you want.
- Confirm the switch using the on-screen prompt.
This method is ideal if you want to test your new character in combat right away.

Tips Before Switching
- Know your team role: Each character excels in different areas, some are tanky frontliners, others are agile damage dealers.
- Check your Ultimate Art: Ultimate Arts are unique per character. Switching changes not just your stats, but your entire strategy.
- Save frequently: While character switching doesn’t reset your progress, it’s always good to save manually before major changes.

Character switching in Elden Ring Nightreign is seamless once you know where to go. Whether you’re experimenting with new builds or adjusting your team strategy, the Roundtable Hold makes it easy. Make it a habit to explore different characters, you might find a new favorite you never expected.
