Starting to play Schedule 1, you'll quickly realize how crucial it is to have your own car. During the prologue, you're given a temporary opportunity to use a car to get acclimated. However, once the main part of the game begins, you're left on foot without any transportation.
The first few hours of gameplay require a lot of walking, and until you gain access to buying a car, traveling across the map and managing your inventory might seem quite limited.
Eventually, you'll discover the car dealership in Schedule 1, and this moment will be a real breakthrough for traveling long distances and transporting some underground goods.

How to Buy a Car in Schedule 1
After completing the prologue, the game transports you to a quiet town where you need to build your own drug network and gain respect. Once you progress in the main storyline and acquire ten clients, a task will appear to talk to three important NPCs. One of them runs the Hyland Auto dealership, where all the vehicles are sold.

Where to Find Hyland Auto
To reach Hyland Auto, head south from the center of Northtown. If you start from the Motel, go down the road past Taco Ticklers and the parking lot. Once you reach the supermarket area and the police station, turn south — near the Gas-Mart and the auto repair shop, you'll find Hyland Auto. You'll quickly memorize this area, as you'll return here often for maintenance or to switch vehicles.

How to Pay for a Car
Note that payment is only accepted via bank card. This means you'll have to legalize your cash before you can use it at Hyland Auto. In Schedule 1, you have a weekly money laundering limit of $10,000 if you don't own a laundromat, so you'll need to act strategically and patiently accumulate funds.

All Cars, Their Prices, and Features in Schedule 1
Currently, there are six cars available in Schedule 1, each with a fixed price. Despite their different appearances and costs, all the cars have slightly different features that stem from their price and your needs:
Car | Price | Trunk Capacity | Acceleration (km/h) | Top Speed (km/h) |
The Shitbox | $5,000 | 5 slots | 0-40 (3.1 sec) to 0-50 (5.4 sec) | 53 |
The Veeper | $9,000 | 16 slots | 0-40 (3.1 sec) to 0-60 (5.7 sec) | 86 |
The Bruiser | $12,000 | 5 slots | 0-40 (2.7 sec) to 0-60 (7.6 sec) | 68 |
The Dinkler | $15,000 | 8 slots | 0-40 (3.7 sec) to 0-60 (7.1 sec) | 77 |
The Hounddog | $25,000 | 5 slots | 0-40 (2.3 sec) to 0-60 (4.2 sec) to 0-80 (11.1 sec) | 84 |
The Cheetah | $40,000 | 4 slots | 0-40 (1.8 sec) to 0-60 (2.5 sec) to 0-80 (5.8 sec) | 93 |

How to Use a Car
After purchasing, your car will appear right at the entrance of the dealership. To start moving, simply get behind the wheel. You can freely navigate the map, and the camera will either automatically follow the direction or allow you to control the view yourself, depending on your control settings.

Besides faster travel, one of the main advantages of owning a car is the additional storage space. The car trunk has several slots that will be handy for transporting large batches of soil, fertilizers, packaging materials, or seeds.

How to Retrieve or Repaint Your Car in Schedule 1
Sometimes you might forget where you left your car or get stuck somewhere in a ditch. In such cases, the game offers a convenient solution. Next to Hyland Auto is the Auto Shop garage. Go inside and talk to the NPC — you'll see an option to retrieve your car. Selecting it will instantly teleport the car to the garage entrance.

In the same garage, you have the option to change the car's color. Choose any of the available options to personalize your vehicle according to your taste.

What is the Fastest Way to Travel in Schedule 1?
Cars are undoubtedly the fastest and most convenient way to get around in the game. They not only allow quick travel over large distances but also significantly simplify logistics for goods. However, if you're just starting out and can't afford a car, there's an alternative option — a cheap skateboard, which can be purchased at Shred Shack for $75.

It significantly speeds up movement compared to walking, though it lacks additional cargo space and is slower than a car. Nevertheless, it's a reasonable choice at the start until you save up for your first vehicle.
