After the release of Hogwarts Legacy, Potter fans were outraged that the game did not have and the developers were not going to add a Quidditch mode, the most famous competitive sport in the wizarding world. However, it later became known what this was about, as one of the development studios (Unbroken Studios) was planning to release a completely separate game project based on quidditch, namely Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.

According to official sources and statements by the publisher WB Games, it became known that Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is scheduled for release on September 3, 2024, on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation, and Xbox, both for the current and previous generation of consoles. The game will also be released on Nintendo Switch, but not earlier than the beginning of the Christmas holiday season. This means that owners of the NS portable console will have to wait until at least December this year.

Earlier, there was an opinion among the gaming audience that the game would be Free-to-Play, noting that the studio would mainly generate revenue from various microtransactions such as the sale of skins, currency, etc. However, this is not the case. The basic digital edition of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions can already be pre-ordered for $29.99. It is also possible to purchase a digital and physical Deluxe edition for $39.99.

The Deluxe Edition will not provide any advantages over other players, except for the introduction of different skins for each of the houses of Hogwarts and an additional 2,000 gold units for the purchase of in-game items.

Players believe that the current price of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is quite high, in particular because of the visuals and a somewhat simplified gameplay that does not offer anything new compared to the quidditch modes that appeared in the old Potter games.
