Grow A Garden: All Pets in the Common Summer Egg and Their Abilities

The Common Summer Egg is one of the new additions introduced during the highly anticipated Summer Update in Grow A Garden. It’s one of three new eggs released, alongside the Rare Summer Egg and the Mythical Paradise Egg.

If you're wondering whether the Common Summer Egg is worth pursuing, we recommend checking out the pets it offers and learning about their unique abilities. Below, we break down everything you need to know about the Common Summer Egg and the pets inside - so let’s dive in!

How to Get the Common Summer Egg

The Common Summer Egg can be purchased from the Pet Eggs store for 1 million Sheckles and takes just 20 minutes to hatch after planting. As a common egg, it has a relatively high 35% chance of being in stock so you can expect it to pop up in the store often.

If you’re not up for the wait, you can also purchase it instantly for 29 Robux.

Unlike most eggs, the Common Summer Egg has a limited pool of just three pets.

Starfish

  • 50% chance
  • Common
  • Ability: Gains additional 5.85 XP per second (increases by 0.085 XP every age up from 1)
  • A great pet for quickly unlocking more pet slots. Its rapid XP gain only affects itself, making it ideal as a pet sacrifice to expand your pet capacity.

Seagull

  • 25% chance
  • Common
  • Ability: Shoveling plants have a chance to drop the equivalent seed. Does not work on fruits.
  • Useful when preparing to clear your lot with the Shovel, especially if you do want its seed return. However, it's not ideal for long-term use. A weaker version of the Reclaimer tool, which gives a guaranteed seed return instead and is easy to craft.

Crab

  • 25% chance
  • Common
  • Ability: Occasionally goes to another player and pinches them, granting sheckles.
  • Decent for beginners to earn early-game currency, though it falls short when compared to pets like the Mole in terms of efficiency and value.

Best Pet in the Common Summer Egg

Many players in the Grow A Garden community agree: the Starfish is by far the best pet in the Common Summer Egg. Its ability to gain XP quickly makes it perfect for use as a pet sacrifice, allowing you to unlock additional pet slots with ease.

On the other hand, the Seagull and Crab are generally considered weak in terms of long-term value.

The hefty cost of the Common Summer Egg at 1 million Sheckles can be steep for beginners, especially considering its basic pets. All in all, if you're aiming for this egg, your best bet is the Starfish.
