In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, anomalies are hazardous zones formed by the Zone's mutated environment. Mastering how to identify and navigate anomalies is key to survival. Below is a comprehensive guide to each anomaly type and the strategies to avoid them.
What Are Anomalies?
Anomalies are dangerous environmental phenomena caused by radiation and other distortions in the Zone. They range from electric fields to gravitational distortions, often guarding rare artifacts. Players can’t destroy anomalies but must learn to detect, avoid, or briefly deactivate them.
List of Anomalies and Avoidance Tips
1. Electric Orbs
Description: Blue orbs emitting crackling electricity that follow fixed paths or pursue players.
How to Avoid: Throw bolts to detect their path and avoid proximity. In enclosed spaces, hide in areas the orb cannot enter.
2. Fire Pits and Lava Projectiles
Description: Small flames or lava pools that erupt, causing significant burn damage.
How to Avoid: Use bolts to trigger flames, then sprint or jump across when safe. Stay outside the range of lava eruptions
3. Electric Ground
Description: Sparkling electric fields that discharge when triggered.
How to Avoid: Toss bolts to activate the anomaly and run through before it resets.
4. Storm Vortex
Description: Invisible traps marked by swirling leaves and faint shining effects.
How to Avoid: Observe for visual cues. Avoid running directly through these areas, as vortexes pull in and deal heavy damage.
5. Spark Explosions
Description: Explosive anomalies that detonate where the player is projected to step.
How to Avoid: Bait the explosion to a specific area, then move away quickly to avoid its blast radius.
6. Glass Shards
Description: Floating shards causing bleeding and physical damage when passed through.
How to Avoid: Crouch or crawl beneath the shards to reduce exposure.
7. Giant Bubbles
Description: Suspended toxic bubbles in swampy areas that burst into smaller, poisonous clouds.
How to Avoid: Maintain distance or use bolts to trigger bubbles safely from afar.
8. Acid Pools and Fumes
Description: Green toxic areas that deal damage over time.
How to Avoid: Clearly visible from afar, walk around the edges of the pools or fumes.
9. Gravity Orbs
Description: Invisible distortions that suck players into a central point, causing immense damage.
How to Avoid: Throw bolts to reveal the orb’s center and pass quickly before it reactivates.
10. Upward Thrust
Description: Debris-filled air currents that launch the player upward.
How to Avoid: While non-lethal, avoid these areas unless you need a height boost.
