Anime Squadron Freezer guide

Freezer is a special type of Secret unit that was implemented into anime Squadron's early development with inspiration from one of the most popular villains of the show Dragon Ball. Unlike most other units and Secret units, Freezer is a battlefield controller, which allows him to play the game differently from most units that just focus on damage output. One of his abilities, Torment, allows him to turn enemies into allies, which allows him to manipulate the game in different ways, and helps him and his allies complete different waves.

How to Get Freezer in Anime Squadron

Freezer is obtained by progressing through the Ice Continent Squadron. Unlike banner-exclusive characters, he is earned by completing content, making him a reliable long-term goal for players who enjoy farming.

To unlock Freezer, you'll need to clear Chapter 4 of the Ice Continent Squadron. The unit can drop on both Normal and Hard difficulty, although Hard offers noticeably better odds.

The current drop rates are:

  • Normal Difficulty: 0.5% drop chance with a 200-clear pity.
  • Hard Difficulty: 1% drop chance with a 100-clear pity.

Thanks to the pity system, every player is guaranteed to obtain Freezer after enough successful clears, even if luck isn't on their side. Some fortunate players may even receive a Shiny version before reaching pity.

Freezer Passives

Golden Freezer's kit revolves around the Torment mechanic. Rather than eliminating normal enemies immediately, he turns them into temporary allies that fight for your team. This unique design allows him to build momentum during longer stages while unlocking even stronger effects as more Tormented enemies appear.

Torment

Whenever Freezer would defeat a normal enemy, that enemy is instead Tormented.

A Tormented enemy revives on your side with health equal to Freezer's damage stat and attacks using 15% of his damage. Only four Tormented enemies can exist at the same time, so older ones must disappear before new ones can be created.

If Freezer is defeated, every Tormented enemy disappears immediately.

The passive also grants Freezer an emergency survival mechanic. If at least three Tormented enemies are active when he dies, he revives once with 25% HP and receives a 30% damage increase for the remainder of his lifetime.

Planet Destroyer

Golden Freezer's second passive activates once four enemies have been Tormented simultaneously.

When this happens, he creates a Death Zone that lasts for five seconds. Enemies standing inside continuously take damage equal to 200% over time while also receiving the Concussion debuff, reducing their Accuracy by 25%.

The Death Zone isn't completely safe for allies, however. Friendly units standing inside it,  except for Freezer himself and Tormented enemies, take a small portion of the zone's damage and are also affected by Concussion.

Absolute Destruction

The final passive rewards you whenever one of your Tormented enemies dies.

Instead of disappearing quietly, each Tormented enemy explodes, dealing damage equal to 100% of Freezer's damage to nearby enemies. Any normal enemies caught in the explosion are also stunned for two seconds.

This chain reaction can clear groups of weaker enemies quickly while giving your team valuable crowd control during difficult waves.

Freezer (Golden) should be an option on your team if you’re looking for a unique unit that offers crowd control and sustains damage. His interest mechanics in the game allow for him to be a flexible unit to add to your roster. Late-game lineups benefit the most from him.
