The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring introduces numerous new weapons, including several ranged options you'll discover throughout the game.
Among these types of weapons are Elden Ring bows and crossbows, providing an exciting gameplay experience for those who wish to try a ranged playstyle without using magic. The DLC features five types of such weapons, including bows and crossbows.
Bone Bow
Description: "A crude short bow made from diseased bone. A means for summoning spirits and a product of ancient tower spellcraft."
First on our review is the Bone Bow — a lightweight bow that might not seem special at first glance. However, this bow has a trick up its bony sleeve — homing arrows! With low stat requirements (8 strength and 11 dexterity), it is accessible to almost any build.
Its Ash of War — Rancor Shot — costs only 3 FP and can be attached to the next attack for rapid shooting. Imagine firing a stream of arrows at your enemies, all hitting their mark — it's as satisfying as it sounds! The Bone Bow can be upgraded to +10 using Somber Smithing Stones, making it a reliable companion throughout your adventure.

Where to Find Bone Bow
To acquire this bony weapon, head to the dungeon left behind by the Belurat Tower Settlement on the western side of Gravesite Plain. It is relatively easy to find early on. Start your journey through the dungeon until you reach the Site of Grace at the Small Private Altar.
From there, exit through the door and climb the stairs. Notice the path to the right, near the rubble. Follow this path, then turn left and enter the door in the niche to your right. Climb the stairs, go through the door, and continue climbing.
At the top, turn left up another flight of stairs, then turn right. In the distance, you'll see a room with an item, but beware of the large scorpions hiding inside. Defeat them and claim your reward — the Bone Bow!

Igon's Greatbow
Description: "The weapon of Igon, a broken dragon warrior. A greatbow made from two dragon bones bound with rough rope. Covered in claw scars. Imbued with Igon's obsession, enhancing the power of Igon's harpoon."
Next on our list is Igon's Greatbow — a powerful weapon crafted for dragon hunting. One of the best among bows in Elden Ring. This greatbow primarily scales with strength and deals heavy damage with large arrows. Its unique skill "Igon's Drake Hunt" charges your arrow to unleash a devastating shot, nearly doubling its damage. Although the shot does not pierce through targets like other greatbows, its sheer power makes up for it.

Where to Find Igon's Greatbow
To obtain Igon's Greatbow and his harpoon, you have two options:
- Complete Igon's questline. Embark on a journey tied to Igon's past and Bayle the Dread. The quest is straightforward but ends with a tough battle against Bayle, where Igon will assist you. Defeating Bayle the Dread is no small feat, especially if you have gathered many Scadutree shards.
- Kill Igon. Alternatively, you can kill Igon yourself. He isn't particularly strong, making this path easier. You'll find him at the Site of Grace at Pillar Path Waypoint. After speaking with him, he will move to the Foot of the Jagged Peak. Kill him at either location to obtain his greatbow, armor set, and Bell Bearing.
Repeating Crossbow
Description: "A mechanized crossbow fitted with a fan-like device. This metal piece adds a reloading system used in performing a unique battle art."
Repeating Crossbow is designed for rapid firing. Using the skill "Repeating Fire," you can unleash a barrage of bolts in quick succession. This skill costs 26 FP and cannot be enhanced with other Ashes of War or enchanted with magic or consumables. However, its sheer firepower makes it a formidable weapon in any encounter.

Where to Find Repeating Crossbow
To obtain the Repeating Crossbow, head to the soldier camp south of Moorth Ruins in the southern part of Scadu Altus. Follow the road south from Moorth Ruins until you reach the camp. If this is your first visit, you will see a Ghostflame Dragon battling soldiers and knights.
You can either defeat all enemies or evade them on horseback. Locate a corpse on a grassy hill near the burnt barricades and loot it to get the Repeating Crossbow.
Spread Crossbow
Description: "A modified crossbow created by combining two crossbows into one. Capable of loading multiple bolts and firing them simultaneously, allowing for spread fire."
The Spread Crossbow is an interesting variation of the typical crossbows found in Elden Ring. Unlike other types of this weapon, it fires ten bolts simultaneously, covering a large area in front of the player.
Although it does not scale with any specific stat, its ability to deal massive damage to enemies makes it a valuable tool in your arsenal. The skill "Kick" may seem standard but helps align enemies for a devastating volley.

Where to Find Spread Crossbow
In the Shadow Lands, head north to Ellac Greatbridge. Beware of the military camp on the other side, equipped with ballistas ready to fire. Cross the bridge and turn right, heading toward the cliff edge. Near a ruined tent, you will see a group of soldiers surrounding a dead body. Loot the body to get the Spread Crossbow.

Ansbach's Longbow
Description: "A longbow consisting of two frames and two strings. Unusually for a longbow, it can be used similarly to a shortbow — provided the wielder possesses extraordinary dexterity."
Finally, we have Ansbach's Longbow, perhaps the best bow in Elden Ring. Its unique skill "Fan Shot" allows you to fire eight arrows simultaneously, making it perfect for inflicting status effects such as bleeding or rot on even the largest bosses. However, it requires significant dexterity — 43 — to use.

Where to Find Ansbach's Longbow
To obtain this formidable Elden Ring bow, you need to participate in Sir Ansbach's quest in Shadow Keep. Either kill him or assist him in battling an invading enemy. He can be found on the first floor of the Storehouse.
After completing the Lady's questline, choose the red summon sign to help the Lady kill Ansbach in the Specimen Storehouse. This will reward you with the coveted Ansbach's Longbow.
