Anyone else gambling on knife trades after the spike?

So I’ve been messing around with knife trades these past couple of weeks, and honestly, it feels like the market is on something. A couple of mid-tier knives I was holding (like Huntsman Doppler and Flip Marble Fade) suddenly got offers 15–20% above what I expected. Not sure if it’s whales moving the market or just hype from the last update, but it got me thinking: Do you guys see knives as a safer long-term hold compared to skins/stickers, or is this just another pump that’s gonna deflate soon? I’ve seen some traders moving into safer stuff like AK/ M4 play skins that always have demand, but part of me thinks knives are actually the better hedge right now especially with all the chatter about more case openings. Anyone else here leaning heavier into knives, or am I just rolling dice with this move?

Already seeing that the CS2 skins/knives market has picked up again after Trade Protection. If knives are rare + have a good skin/condition, they can bring profit? especially if you hold them long-term. I’d invest in knives if Im sure theyre historically in demand and liquid

I wouldn't be so sure. Hype and trends are fine, but the price can crash, especially if Valve introduces something that fairly increases supply (new operations, cases). Right now there's a lot of noise: rare skins are going up, but sales volumes may be low, and you risk getting stuck with a knife that has no buyers

What if Valve introduces something to drive prices down? New cases, new knives supply will increase, knives will become commonplace. Or maybe some bugs, exploits, or cases will cheapen the market. Then you’ll be left holding expensive junk

If being realistic: knives are a good asset right now, but not without risk. If you can hold and not sell at the first dip, if you can spot truly rare knives with good patterns then yes, there's a chance for profit. But the main thing is understanding that this isn't a stable company stock: it's a market of hype and demand, and a lot depends on trends, streamers, and events

Come on, if there's a gold mine in CS2, it's knives
