Blizzard is launching Molten Front and Season of Discovery Phase 5 for World of Warcraft soon

Blizzard Entertainment has announced a thrilling update for World of Warcraft players with the launch of Cataclysm Classic: The Molten Front on September 17, and Season of Discovery Phase 5 arriving shortly after on September 26.

Molten Front in Cataclysm Classic

Players in Cataclysm Classic can soon join the defenders of Hyjal in their battle against Ragnaros’ elemental forces when the Molten Front opens on September 17.

This early launch will bring over 60 new daily quests and four iLevel 365 gear vendors for players at level 85.

Located in the Mount Hyjal region, the new content unlocks in stages via Marks of the World Tree, allowing players to progress at their own pace.

The update includes two main areas — The Regrowth and the Molten Front — offering dynamic, evolving world content. Players will join forces with iconic characters like Matoclaw and Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem to repel elemental invasions before establishing a forward base in the Firelands to combat Ragnaros’ forces directly.

New High-Definition Textures

Alongside the content updates, Blizzard has teased the release of High-Definition Textures in a future Cataclysm Classic update, allowing players to enhance the game’s visual fidelity. This feature will be tested in the upcoming Patch 4.4.1 PTR, promising to deliver better graphics without losing the classic aesthetic of the game.

Season of Discovery Phase 5

On September 26, Season of Discovery will enter Phase 5, opening two iconic raid dungeons: Blackwing Lair and Zul'Gurub. Blackwing Lair is designed for 20 players but allows up to 40, offering players the chance to earn Tier 2 armor sets. Meanwhile, Zul’Gurub will be accessible to groups of 10–20 players, with rewards tailored for smaller raid sizes.
