The organization Gaimin Gladiators Ltd. has officially filed a lawsuit against four players from its former Dota 2 roster. According to Ontario court documents, the lawsuit amounts to 7.5 million Canadian dollars. The defendants in the case are Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, Erik “tOfu” Engel, Marcus “Ace” Christensen, and Alimzhan “watson” Zhanatovich.

Reasons for the Conflict
The dispute arose after the team refused to compete for Gaimin Gladiators at The International 2025. The players informed the organization in August of their intention to terminate their contracts and attend the tournament independently. According to GG, less than a week before the start, the bootcamp was canceled, resulting in significant losses.
The lawsuit also mentions numerous breaches of contractual obligations: failure to fulfill sponsorship and media tasks over 18 months, as well as controversial comments by Quinn Callahan, which the club claims cost them a multi-million dollar partnership deal.

Organization's Statement
In an official statement, Gaimin Gladiators claim they attempted to negotiate a "modest compensation" with the players but were refused:
Quinn's comments led to the loss of a seven-figure sponsorship. More than five instances of inappropriate behavior towards specific demographic groups have been recorded. Additionally, the players systematically failed to meet contractual obligations. Amid threats of contract termination and potential lawsuits, we could not send a team to The International that refused to compete at full strength.
The case is currently being reviewed in the Ontario court, with the next hearing date yet to be scheduled. The players have not made any public comments. If the lawsuit is successful, the former Gaimin Gladiators roster could face record fines in Dota 2 history.
