After the competitive season concluded in the most renowned VCT league, the Valorant community's attention was captivated by the women's league Game Changers, with the main event being the Game Changer Championship 2024. Over the course of 11 days, the top 10 female teams battled for the world champion title, and as a result of fierce competitions, the American team Shopify Rebellion emerged as the winner, becoming world champions for the second consecutive year. Today, our editorial team has prepared a material for you in which we will расскажем про шлях та перемогу Shopify Rebellion на найважливішому івенті року, а також інші подробиці про минулий чемпіонат світу.
The Path of Shopify Rebellion to the Championship
The American team was considered one of the favorites for the current championship, and it's no surprise, given their phenomenal success in the previous championship. In 2023, Shopify Rebellion became the champions of the Game Changer Championship 2023, securing a hard-fought victory over Team Liquid Brazil with a score of 3-2. Thanks to this, the team was regarded as one of the strongest throughout 2024, and they proved it once again.
The Team's Journey at Game Changers Championship 2024
Shopify Rebellion qualified for the world championship by winning the final stage of the Game Changers North America Series 3, which, in addition to the regular event during the season, serves as a qualifying stage for the championship. The team showcased the highest level of play, and throughout the event, they played only one map, yet the American team finished the event without losing a single match. As a result, Shopify Rebellion earned $20,000 in prize money, as well as an invitation to the world championship.
No Losses Throughout the Championship
As favorites, the team began their performance at the Game Changer Championship 2024 and continued to support it by not suffering any defeats throughout the event. Although the level of teams at the world championship is very high, surpassing the level from the qualifiers, Shopify Rebellion successfully reached the grand final without losing a single map. The list of teams defeated by the American champions is as follows:
- Victory over Falcons Vega with a score of 2-0
- Victory over Xipto Esports with a score of 2-0
- Victory over G2 Gozen with a score of 2-0
Domination over MIBR GC in the Grand Final
In the grand final, the team faced the Brazilian top team MIBR GC, who also dominated throughout the event. At the beginning of the tournament, the Brazilian team fell into the lower bracket, after which they successfully overcame three opponents and, through a loser's bracket, advanced to the grand final. After such results, spectators expected an incredible display of passion and intense competition, but Shopify Rebellion proved to be head and shoulders above their opponents.
As a result of three maps — Pearl 13-7, Sunset 13-7, Haven 13-11 — Shopify Rebellion became the match winner and secured their second consecutive world champion title in the women's Game Changers league.

Over the course of 11 days, teams competed not only for recognition and the title of the strongest but also for a substantial prize pool, which Riot Games has been presenting for several years in a row. A total of $500,000 was distributed as follows:
