How to bind left and right hand in CS2

On the day of the official release of Counter-Strike 2, the community was shocked by the fact that the game lacked the ability to switch hands. Six months later, after numerous requests, developers reintroduced this functionality into the game. In this article, we will explain How to bind left hand CS2.

By default, in CS2, weapons are displayed on the right side of the screen. Many players dislike this because they are accustomed to a different hand placement from previous versions of CS.

How did hand switching work in CS:GO?

In CS:GO, it was quite simple. Hand switching was controlled by the console command cl_righthand. Setting the parameter to "1" established a right-hand position, and setting it to "0" established a left-hand position. You could also easily bind it to any convenient button and switch hands without even accessing the console.

Setting the left hand in CS2

Seven months after the official release of CS2, developers finally added a feature to the game that allows switching the hand from right to left. You can change the primary hand both before the start of the match and during the game. Valve added a special CS2 left hand command, which is set by default to the English letter "H". The same key is responsible for the CS2 right hand command if you previously had the left hand set. When switching hands during a match, a short animation of drawing the weapon will play, so it will not be possible to immediately open fire after pressing the button.

You can also install the left hand permanently. Go to “settings”, then “game”, then “item” and find the field “preferred hand viewing model”. Install right or left as desired.

Changing the hand position is not just a visual element that is now visible to other players as well. First of all, this feature improves your visibility in various situations on the map. For example, if you are in a narrow, poorly lit area of the map where there is a turn on the right, the weapon in your right hand can partially block your view, creating a blind spot. Use the CS2 left hand bind to increase your chances of success and react faster to an unexpected enemy.

CS2 completely revamped the smoke system, graphics, sound, and tick rate system. Developers even considered removing the ability to switch from right to left hand, but they came to their senses in time and brought it back. Now the game looks much better!
