The default grenade settings in Counter-Strike are not 100% practical and convenient. Because of this, players of different levels, especially cyber athletes, use binds for grenades.
Having binds will save you precious seconds in a particular match that you would otherwise spend scrolling or repeatedly pressing the "4" key to get to the right grenade.
You can make binds for grenades, assign a separate key to each type of grenade in CS2 in the settings menu or through the console. We will tell you about each of the methods below.
In the settings menu
You can change binds in Counter-Strike through the settings menu of the game.
- While in the main menu of the game first click on the gear in the top left corner of the screen.
- Go to the section "Keyboard/Mouse "
- Scroll down or select the subsection "Weapon Keys".
Once you get to the right part of the settings you will be able to assign each type of grenade a different key to press.

Via console
Assign this or that key to the desired grenade can also be assigned through console commands. The console itself can be called by clicking on the button with a tilde "~", which is located under the "Esc" key.
Bind for blinding grenade:
bind z "use weapon_flashbang";
Bind for smoke grenade:
bind x "use weapon_smokegrenade";
Bind for fragmentation grenade:
bind c "use weapon_hegrenade";
Bind for Molotov cocktail/incendiary grenade:
bind v "use weapon_molotov;use weapon_incgrenade"
Note that using binds will turn you into a more useful teammate, who will be able to throw a grenade faster in a tense moment of a round. It may be awkward or unfamiliar at first, but whatever the case, your effectiveness will increase.
