History and Evolution of Overpass

The Overpass map appeared in CS:GO in 2013 and featured a high vertical layout and open bomb sites. Over the years, the map has undergone many changes to corners and intersection points, becoming a favorite among professional teams for its tactical depth. In CS2, textures and lighting were tweaked for Overpass to improve visibility and overall gameplay. On April 26, 2024, Valve announced that Overpass CS2 was leaving the active map pool and would be replaced by Dust2.
