How to Change Appearance and Hairstyle in Where Winds Meet

Where Winds Meet gives players a deep and flexible character-customization system, one that doesn’t lock you into your Day-1 look. Whether you want a subtle makeover, a bold new hairstyle, or a total facial reconstruction, the game lets you overhaul your martial arts master at any time, provided you have the right items.

How to Access the Appearance Menu

To begin any cosmetic change, open the in-game menu:

  1. Press ESC, or click the menu icon in the upper-right.
  2. Navigate to the Character section.
  3. Select Appearance.

This raises the full collection of the game's cosmetic tools: hair, outfits, mounts, skill effects, idle poses and more. All the visual aspects about your character live here, so search the tabs and find what you want to modify.

Changing Hairstyles, Clothes, and Basic Cosmetics

You can swap between styles instantly without spending any currency or premium resources. You can get new hairstyles and clothing pieces this ways:

  • Earned through gameplay
  • Purchased from shops
  • Obtained via the in-game gacha system

How to Change Your Physical Appearance

If you wish to remake your character’s actual physical structure: face shape, body type, bone structure, then you’ll need a special item:

Water Lady Script

  • Found in your Items tab
  • Or accessed through the Appearance menu and Appearance button at the bottom left

Any major physical change consumes one Water Lady Script. Hairstyles and cosmetics don’t use this item, but full facial edits do. Water Lady Scripts are rare, so use them wisely.

How to Change Hair Color

  1. Open Appearance
  2. Go to the Workshop tab
  3. Select Dye
  4. Choose a hairstyle
  5. Pick an empty Dye Slot

There are two different hair dye types. Basic Hair Dye lets you select fainted hair color shades and is much easier to obtain earlier since it requires only an Inkshade Hair Dye. Advanced Hair Dye, however, allows you to unlock all intense hair dyes on the color spectrum, but also requires the more difficult gacha roll obtained from Timeless Hairdye, as it has a lower drop rate.

How to Dye Outfits

Clothes can also be recolored through the same Workshop tab.

Outfit Dye Types

  • Softweave Dye Powder: basic, muted tones
  • Rosycloud Dye Powder: premium, vivid colors

Where Winds Meet offers one of the most flexible customization systems in an open-world RPG. Simple changes like hair and clothing are free and easily reversible, while deeper transformations require rare items or premium purchases. Whether you’re chasing realism, wuxia elegance, or wild fantasy colors, the system gives you plenty of room to craft your perfect wanderer.
