How to Use Stored EXP in Where Winds Meet

Reaching a level cap can be frustrating in Where Winds Meet. After completing quests and clearing out enemies you might see that you\u2019ve gained experience but in reality you aren\u2019t making any progress gaining experience. This can lead to a feeling of disappointment since there are multiple level caps, Breakthrough challenges and a time gated progression. Players are in constant worry that all of their earned experience is going to waste.

How Stored EXP Works

In Where Winds Meet, stored experience gives you a 50% experience boost rather than automatically boosting you to a higher level, which is something that a lot of players get wrong. When you finish your Breakthrough and hit your level cap, Stored EXP gets activated automatically and augments your earned EXP from all sources. Say for instance a quest gives you 10,000 EXP. If stored experience is activated, you get an additional 5,000 EXP, so that would be 15,000 EXP. As you complete activities, that amount of extra experience is gradually removed from your stored experience. Until the entire stored experience is received, the bonus experience continues to be applied. That means the bonus stored experience is not all received at once, and levels are not automatically given; instead, it simply temporarily increases your experience gain.

Important Limitations:

  • Stored EXP does NOT apply instantly
  • It does NOT level you up automatically
  • It slowly drains over time as a bonus buff
  • Once the pool runs out, the bonus disappears

Its main purpose is to ensure your playtime during level locks still has long-term value.

How to Check Your Stored EXP

Tracking your Stored EXP is simple but easy to miss if you don’t know where to look:

  1. Open your main menu
  2. Click the “…” icon next to your EXP bar
  3. A window will appear showing:

                - Your current level

                -Your total Stored EXP

This allows you to estimate how long your bonus EXP period will last once progression resumes.

How to Use Stored EXP Efficiently

To use Stored EXP efficiently in Where Winds Meet, it’s best to save your highest-yield activities for after your Breakthrough when the EXP bonus becomes active. Main story quests, elite enemy fights, and major events will drain your Stored EXP faster but also give you the most value from the 50% bonus. Avoid spending the bonus on low-EXP grinding early on, as this wastes its potential. By focusing on big rewards while the bonus is active, you’ll level up significantly faster and get the most out of your stored progress.

The Stored EXP system in Where Winds Meet exists to prevent progress from being completely halted during time-gated level locks. While it won’t instantly boost your character, it does reward persistence with faster leveling later on through its 50% EXP bonus effect.
