Ubisoft has announced Siege X, one of the most significant changes in the history of Rainbow Six Siege. This isn't just a patch—it's a new era for the game, featuring substantial gameplay enhancements, an improved anti-cheat system, and visual updates to maps.
Siege X promises to make the game not only fairer but also deeper in terms of tactical possibilities. New destruction mechanics, an enhanced sound system, and a modernized movement system are all designed to elevate the player experience to a new level.
Siege X Release Date and Veteran Rewards
Ubisoft has announced the release date for Siege X—June 10. All modes will be free, except for ranked matches and the Siege Cup tournament, which require a purchased copy of the game. Additionally, players who previously played Siege and purchased it will retain all their progress and skins.
Moreover, Siege veterans will receive exclusive rewards from the first launch. Rewards will depend on the year the player began their Siege career. For example, if you started in the fifth year of the game, you'll receive prizes for the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth years. Players will also receive a badge indicating the year they started playing, with gold for 2016 and platinum for 2015. Players who started in the first year will receive all subsequent rewards, as well as the exclusive Black Ice skin. Additional rewards are also planned based on account level.

Minimum Requirements (1080p/60FPS)

Laptop graphics cards may work if their performance meets the minimum requirements.

Updated Anti-Cheat Shield Guard and Reputation System
Ubisoft is actively combating unfair play and toxic behavior. As part of Siege X, the updated R6 ShieldGuard anti-cheat system is introduced. It includes:
- QB System – unique executable files for each player to prevent hacking;
- Binary Hardening – enhanced game code encryption to complicate cheater interference;
- Gameplay Violations – a system detecting abnormal behavior, such as running and shooting simultaneously;
- MouseTrap – a mechanism to identify players using a keyboard and mouse on consoles;
- Analytics and AI – monitoring suspicious behavior through player data.
Additionally, a completely revamped reputation system is fully activated. Toxic players lose access to ranked matches, while those who behave positively receive rewards and unique customization elements. Since these changes were implemented, the level of toxicity in the game has begun to decrease for the first time.
Visual Changes to Maps
Siege X brings noticeable graphical improvements. Five classic maps—Clubhouse, Chalet, Border, Bank, and Cafe—have received updated 4K textures, a new lighting system, and shadows. Ubisoft promises to release three modernized maps each new season.
Improved Grapple Movement System
Grapple movement has become smoother and more realistic. Players can now run horizontally and even leap around building corners, opening up new tactical opportunities.

Addition of Destructible Environment on Maps
Interactive objects have been added to the game: fire extinguishers, gas pipes, and metal detectors. These can be used in combat, creating unexpected destruction and additional strategies.
Sound System Enhancements
One of the most ambitious changes is the complete overhaul of the sound system. Now sound propagates realistically, allowing players to accurately determine enemy locations:
- Improved vertical sound transmission helps understand if an enemy is above or below;
- Different surfaces transmit sound differently, creating a deeper sound environment;
- Realistic echoes allow players to distinguish between large and small spaces, as well as interiors and exteriors.
This change not only enhances immersion but also creates new tactical opportunities, allowing players to use sound to distract enemies or move stealthily.
New 6v6 Mode – Dual Front
Siege X introduces a new mode, Dual Front, offering a fresh take on PvP battles. Teams of six can now form without the traditional division into attackers and defenders. Players can choose from a list of 35 operators and combine their unique abilities and weapons, creating unexpected tactical combinations. This mode adds new strategic depth and opens up new ways for player interaction.

Enhanced Communication System and Weapon Inspection
Siege X will feature a convenient communication wheel, allowing quick transmission of key information to the team. Available commands include "Reinforce here," "Watching this position," "Danger," "Help," and others. This will greatly improve player interaction, especially in matches with unfamiliar teammates.
Additionally, players can now inspect weapons in the game. They will be able to view their skins and charms, which will especially delight collectors and customization enthusiasts.
Siege X is not just an update; it's the beginning of a new era for Rainbow Six Siege. Ubisoft continues to develop the game, making it fairer, deeper, and more engaging. In the future, we can expect new maps, improved mechanics, and further efforts to combat unfair play.
