In December 2023, Team Liquid launched an ambitious project by bringing Danish captain cadiaN to the team. This move was supposed to help the American organization become one of the best teams in the world. In addition to cadiaN, the team signed superstar Twistzzzz from FaZe, and there were also rumors of KSCERATO joining the team. In the end, another Brazilian, Skullz, was invited instead. NAF and YEKINDAR were also included in the lineup.
YEKINDAR also noted that cadiaN had a different approach to the game, reminding him of the style of another AWP and captain, Jame from Virtus.pro. He emphasized that cadiaN directs players a lot, which can interfere with their individuality. "I think the biggest similarity is that he directs people a lot. Like when to run, when to do this, when to do that and so on," YEKINDAR revealed.
YEKINDAR also noted that cadiaN is used to working with Danish players who are on the same page. This hasn't always worked in an international team where individuality and freedom of decision making is important to the players. cadiaN's habit of commanding the players' every move led to inconsistencies and made it difficult to find the right balance in the team.
Despite efforts, the project with cadiaN did not produce the desired results. YEKINDAR praised cadiaN for his wisdom, but recognized that the captain's leadership style upset the balance on the team. As a result, cadiaN ended up on the bench and Skullz is rumored to be returning to Brazil for a move to FURIA.
