According to a report from HLTV, Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak is one of the top contenders to join Team Liquid in the second half of 2024. The Polish player will assume the role of AWP, replacing departed IGL Casper "cadiaN" Møller, who was suspended last month due to poor results last season.
The move is part of a massive rebuild, as Liquid are looking to replace not only the IGL and AWP positions, but also lead Felipe "skullz" Medeiros and coach Wilton "zews" Prado. Ultimate, who is relatively unknown, became a free agent after leaving Illuminar at the end of June. During his time with the Polish team, his ultimate rating was 6.5, while playing mostly low-level tournaments.

Most likely Team Liquid hopes that fresh blood in the person of ultimate will bring new ideas and approaches, despite his relative lack of experience at a high level. Last year, the team already tried to bring in a new player by signing Rainwaker, but that bet didn't pay off.
This move also seems risky, as ultimate doesn't have a single LAN card, and he hasn't proven himself against high-level opponents, having not played a single card against top-20 teams.
