Following today's match day at the Major, the pairs for the next round of BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 have been determined. One of the matches that will attract special attention from fans is Monte - NAVI, as it will determine who advances to the playoffs.

It's not just because it's the first tier-1 match (and also at a Major) between two Ukrainian teams in a very long time, but it's also a reunion of two long-time rivals, s1mple and Woro2k. This sniper duo had a quarrel in the finals of the Kinguin Legends 2022 show tournament, exchanging remarks in voice chat and on Twitter.

What does the statistics say?

If we filter out tier-2/3 online tournaments, s1mple surpasses Monte in many aspects. And at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, his shooting was on point. In the bo1 match against NIP, Kostyliev delivered some impressive flick shots. Woro2k, on the other hand, has shown a certain number of 1v3 clutches and even a 1v4 in the past month. However, this doesn't yet appear to be a claim of "destruction."

It's worth noting that it's unlikely these two snipers still hold a grudge against each other. At most, there might be a slight dislike. s1mple can get heated during the game and criticize his teammates, but he doesn't hold onto anger for long.

But does this mean the match will be uninteresting? No, because it will be a clash for a spot in the playoffs of the last CS:GO Major between the best player in the world in 2022 and underdogs who have surprised esports fans multiple times. Let's not forget about the storyline with sdy, who will face his former team.

The Bo3 series between Monte and NAVI will take place tomorrow, May 15, at 16:30. The loser will no longer have room for error, as the statistics will be 2-2.

BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 is taking place from May 8 to May 21. Teams are competing for a prize pool of $1.25 million. The tournament winner will also secure spots in IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. You can track the schedule and results of the Major here.
