Sebastian “volt” Maloș, signed a year ago to replace iM, is now the latest player from the GamerLegion roster he joined. The former Into The Breach player has become a reliable star for the team and is now its most experienced member.
In an interview with BLAST ahead of BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024, he shared about the changes in the team, his time with Snax and the first half of 2024. GamerLegion have made 4 changes this year, swapping the sniper, captain and two other players.
It was hard. Every change felt like a step backwards, forcing us to start all over again. Rotating positions or teaching new players our strategies slowed our progress. Even though I kept most of my roles, the constant changes of site partners at CT sites hindered our synergy. Keeping motivation high after multiple lineup changes has been difficult, but I trust ashhh's choices for the team. At the end of the day, it's important that the team gets better.
It was disappointing, their lineup has changed several times since the Major and it's hard to gauge their performance. Although they played in the Major, they did not qualify directly and their opportunity came after their loss to 9Pandas. The invitation came at a time of uncertainty and it became like a 'last dance' for them for this squad. Despite the setbacks, we have made it to a few playoffs recently. These were his words of assessment of the first half of the year
I was often one of the youngest in my lineups. Now I'm pointing out my teammates' mistakes and expressing my opinion more. I'm about to turn 23 and being one of the 'experienced' players, I'm trying to be more mature and lead by example. Playing with Snax was a pleasure. He gave valuable advice, especially on the positions we both played. He always had answers to my questions and gave me a new understanding of the necessary mentality to compete in CS and deal with stress.
When asked about new players, he said that FL4MUS brings a lot of energy and actively communicates in and out of the game. His English is good, which avoids language barriers. aNdu and sl3nd, who have been on the team longer, have shown confidence and a desire to win the Pro League. All three are active in FACEIT, which helps them stay fit and passionate about the game. The small age difference helps the team bond quickly, which makes us stronger.
Our goals include qualifying for Shanghai Major. At Fall Groups, reaching the finals will be important, but as outsiders, our real goal is to win some matches and make every game competitive.
