Tonight marked the end of VCT 2023 Game Changers Series 2 in North America, where female teams fought for a substantial prize pool. The grand finals saw a face-off between Complexity GX3 and Version1, the latter claiming victory after 3 straightforward maps.

Match Breakdown

Truthfully, the first two maps were nothing out of the ordinary. Version1, who chose Bind, had no trouble shutting down the opponents in the first half of the match, ending it with a 10-2 score, after which they took the necessary 3 rounds in the second half of the match.

Haven, chosen by Complexity GX3, also went in a one-sided manner. The first half of the game was under the control of Version1 and ended with an 11-1 score. After switching sides, the girls from Complexity GX3 tried to rectify the situation by taking 3 rounds, but the score gap was too large.

The final map, Pearl, chosen by Version1, was more reminiscent of a final battle. On it, Complexity GX3 tried to resist their rivals, but ultimately, they could not. The first half of the game ended with an 8-4 score in favor of Version1, but a slight comeback occurred after switching sides. Complexity GX3 successfully took the first 2 rounds, after which the trading of rounds began. Ultimately, thanks to winning the first half of the game, Version1 took the decisive round, thereby winning the match.

The situation in the tournament was quite predictable regarding Version1, as the team was favored from the beginning because they had already won the previous stage of VCT 2023 Game Changers North America Series 1. In the current tournament, the girls easily defeated all their opponents without losing a single map, thereby securing the victory, $20,000 and 80 NA ranking points, which put them in 1st place among other teams in the region.
