Yesterday's update to Counter-Strike 2, which modified the penetration system, removed the ability to kill multiple enemies with a single bullet if they were lined up in a row. The community was divided into those who believed this was a nerf to the AWP, while others were convinced it was a bug. The latter group turned out to be right.
It turns out that the update was primarily concerned with wall penetrations that were allowing too much damage, as if the obstacles themselves were made of paper. It seems that the developers mistakenly removed the ability to make "kebab" kills, but Valve promptly fixed the bug.

It should be noted that the volume of sounds from received damage, headshots, hits to the body with and without armor, both for the victim and for the shooter, was also adjusted. Additionally, the volume of the radio near the CT spawn on the Italy map was increased.
