In the recent CS2 update, Valve blocked the ability to change the ticker on all Counter-Strike 2 servers. This decision by the developers forced FACEIT to switch their servers from the 128 ticker they had always used to 64 (sub-types).
Dataminer xPaw posted on Twitter that Valve encoded 64 tickreps in the client binary. Even changing the binary file on a separate server will not change anything, as the developers have removed the GetTickInterval function, which greatly simplified this process.
128 ticrates was a significant advantage of FACEIT and the main reason why casual and professional players chose the platform. Together with the change in the matchmaking rating system, it looks like Valve is going to make all side platforms unnecessary and force players to play on the developers' servers.
