Valve: Counter-Strike 2 launches soon

A new message from Valve about the upcoming release of Counter-Strike 2 has been spotted online. The developers shared the information on a special page dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Steam platform.

Company representatives mentioned CS2 in the section dedicated to the review of the 2023 releases. Their message noted that this year the company has already launched a major update to the Steam client, started beta testing for CS2 (which will be released soon), and there are now over 11,000 games on the Steam Deck platform marked as "Fully Compatible" and "Playable".

In the CS2 announcement, the developers stated that the shooter will be released in the summer of 2023. However, as of the publication date, the game is still in closed beta testing. This might be due to the different ways the US and Europe determine seasons: in the states, they prefer to use the astronomical calendar, according to which autumn starts on September 23rd - the day of the autumnal equinox. Therefore, the release of the shooter might happen within the next ten days.
