The dataminer discovered these items using the console, where the parameters of the given command were found with the parameters weapon_tripwirefire and weapon_smokebeacon, meaning "fire string" and "smoke beacon," respectively. However, when entering these commands, the game client crashes, and grenades aren't available in the current version of the game. In addition, the dataminer found images of these items in the game files.

The dataminer also discovered a bear trap. However, he remembered that this tool was already present in the CS:GO files but was never added to the game in any way. He believes grenades and a trap will probably be added to the "Forbidden Zone" and not to the competitive mode.

On the evening of March 22, Valve announced the release of Counter-Strike 2 and began closed beta testing.
