Counter-Strike 2 Tricks Discovered by Players

Counter-Strike 2 Tricks Discovered by Players

On March 22, the Valve company announced Counter-Strike 2 on the Source 2 engine. The official release of the updated game will take place in the summer of 2023. However, some players got access to the closed test and have already discovered some shooter features.

Legs and shadow

In Counter-Strike 2, players can look at their character's legs by tilting the camera down. There is no such possibility in CS:GO.

Also, in CS2, the player model will have a shadow. In CS:GO, all agents have shadows, but the player cannot see the shadow of his character if he looks at the floor at his feet. The shadow is only visible to other players.

Bind for removing the silencer

The developers of Counter-Strike 2 are considering the possibility of adding a new function to the game — assigning a separate key to remove the silencer from the weapon. The official CS2 Twitter account posted information about this feature, but the post was removed for an unknown reason. However, the message about the appearance of the new feature was saved on Reddit.

Currently, in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, removing the silencer from the weapon is carried out by pressing the right mouse button, which is also used for other functions, such as aiming when using AWP, switching to alternative fire in some types of weapons, etc.

No more skyboxes

Skyboxes are no longer used in the game, and grenades can fly freely across the map.

New radar

The radar now displays the radius within which enemies can detect the sounds your model makes.

Grenade training window

In Counter-Strike 2, the developers improved the interface. During the training mode with bots, a window opens in the left part of the interface for players, displaying the place of the grenades' land. It is important to note that this update is not applicable in game mode with real players.

You can read more about the new effects of smoke grenades here.

Less important changes:

  • The game now has gunshot sound effects that differ depending on whether they occur in a closed or open space.
  • Special forces smoke grenades are dark blue, while terrorists have a lighter smoke effect.
  • Updated the design of the main menu and changed animations when viewing inventory.
  • You can see the weapons and grenades under the avatars of teammates.
  • Accurate throwing of a grenade in a jump is now possible without using a bind.
  • Changed the animation of the bomb, which now flashes brightly when lying on the ground.
  • Added binding, which prevents accidental removal of the muffler.
  • While setting the graphics, the user is shown a view before and after the changes.

The company Valve said that the closed test of CS2 will take place until the summer of 2023, after which the updated shooter will be available to everyone. Earlier, we collected the community's reaction to the announcement of a new version of Counter-Strike, which you can find here.
