Thour compared the FPS in CS2 from March 19 and the latest version of the game

ThourCS2 recently ran a performance test to compare FPS between two Counter-Strike 2 patches: 1.39.9.9 (dated March 19) and the latest 1.40.2.1 (dated July 12). The results were interesting and showed significant improvements.

FPS increased from 323.3 in Patch 1.39.9.9 to 346.8 in Patch 1.40.2.1. This amounts to a 7.26% increase, which is a noticeable performance improvement for players.

While the average FPS showed a significant increase, the 1% FPS increased slightly from 218.3 to 219.3. The 0.2% FPS also showed a slight improvement from 203.8 to 205.1.

ThourCS2 ran these tests on the Mirage map offline on an empty server, ensuring consistency. The tests were run using CapFrameX to generate the results.

The tests were run on the following PC specifications:

  • Processor: i5-12400F
  • Graphics card: 1660 Ti
  • Memory: 16GB DDR4 RAM
  • Resolution: 1920x1080
  • MSAA: 2x
  • Reflex: Enabled

The tests were run with the same BIOS and NVIDIA GPU drivers (version 556.12) to ensure accuracy. He also added that results may vary from system to system.
