The “Play Like S1mple” course left fans without the promised content and technical support

Popular content maker NartOutHere recently posted a video where he shared that he was duped into buying the still active “Play Like S1mple” course that s1mple launched in June 2024.

Subscribers paid $150 for access to 70 exclusive tutorials, online demo reviews, and private streams with the cyber sports star. But instead of what was promised, users were faced with gated content, a lack of promised events and dysfunctional technical support.

What did s1mple promise?

The “Play Like S1mple” course offered subscribers more than 70 exclusive video tutorials, skin giveaways, online demo reviews, streams with s1mple and tournaments with cash prizes. As it turns out, most of the 19 available tutorials are labeled as “private”, which means they are not available to subscribers.

The tech support that is supposed to help with such problems is simply not functioning on the course website. Participants tried to contact the team via Discord, but were met with nothing but silence. Instead of resolving issues, the only moderator of the community, judging by reports, simply ignores complaints, leaving users without help.

The course is still available for purchase

The most unpleasant fact remains that the course is still being advertised by s1mple on social media, and can still be purchased on the website. There is a possibility that many people, having forgotten to turn off the auto-renewal of the annual subscription, may again face unjustified debits. It is important to note that the tech support on the website is not working and it is almost impossible to request a refund through official channels.

Community Reaction

In a post on Reddit that shared a video from NartOutHere, users actively voiced their opinions about the course. One commenter under the nickname BeepIsla asked, “Didn't they take it down and refund everyone's money.” He was answered by another user, airelfacil, ironically noting, "That's the beauty of it: you don't have to do a refund if you send all the emails to a dead account or if the support widget is broken. Yes, you will need to do a credit card refund. Good luck to anyone who has used a bank account to pay." This comment suggests that those who purchased the course before it “closed” may have gotten a refund, but those who purchased it later may face serious refund issues.

Some users also recall previous instances of s1mple cheating his fans by misappropriating their knives in-game. These accusations haunted him until he joined Team Liquid in 2016, after which he had to resolve the situation and return the stolen items. How the situation will unfold with the current course is still unclear.

Conclusion - is the course worth spending money on?

According to many users, the Play Like S1mple course is not worth the money. Problems with access to the lessons, lack of promised streamings, tournaments and interaction with s1mple led to disappointment among subscribers. Moreover, the content itself, available for free, has not lived up to expectations. NartOutHere believes that it is better to turn to free guides from other professionals such as STYKO, EliGE or Jame, whose tips and guides will help to improve the game more effectively.
