The Most Underrated Players in Counter-Strike

A good Counter-Strike player is not always defined by high statistical performance or media attention. Throughout the game's history, there have been numerous esports players who were underestimated for one reason or another. In this article, we will talk about the five most underrated professional players in CS.

Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný

Opening our list of the most underrated players in CS is oskar. Throughout his long professional career, the Czech sniper has consistently demonstrated a worthy level of play. His peak came in 2016 when he moved from HellRaisers to MOUZ. However, Tomas was never able to fully realize his potential.

What was the reason for this? It's not entirely clear. Perhaps the player himself made wrong decisions in certain situations. Or perhaps the clubs he played for didn't fully trust him and ultimately relied on other players. As a result, oskar descended not just to the tier-2 scene, but to tier-3. One thing worth respecting about the 32-year-old Czech esports player is that he continues to play CS and enjoy it.

Justin "jks" Savage

Next on our list is the best player from Australia. After dominating his home region, Justin set out to conquer North America. At first, he failed to do so with 100 Thieves, and then with Complexity Gaming. He then had a stint in Europe with G2 Esports, but was eventually kicked from there too.

What went wrong? After all, throughout his career, jks has shown excellent statistics and regularly won important rounds. The main problem was that Justin simply didn't fit well into his teams. And here, the issue likely lies not with the player himself, but with the management of the clubs, who signed contracts based solely on statistics without considering whether the team members' personalities would mesh. If jks finds a tier-1 team that believes in him, the results will be fantastic.

Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen

Bubzkji was once considered one of the main talents of the Danish CS:GO scene, but at some point, something went wrong. The critical moment was leaving MAD Lions and joining Astralis as the sixth player. At first, Lucas had some gaming practice, but gradually it disappeared altogether, and he simply sat on the bench.

As a result, he couldn't fulfill his potential. Bubzkji could have fit perfectly into Heroic under the leadership of cadiaN, but it didn't happen. What's done is done. Currently, Lucas regularly works as an analyst at various major tournaments.

Audric "JACKZ" Jug

JACKZ has proven that great desire and diligent training are the keys to success in the pro scene— the French esports player joined a tier-1 team at the age of 26. He excelled as an entry-fragger for G2, but after a year, he was benched due to his weak English skills.

Yes, JACKZ didn't have outstanding individual statistics, but he did a lot of dirty work on the server that benefited the team. One could say that Audric became a victim of the lack of good French teams and the low level of English language skills.

Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev

sdy is a very determined and hardworking player. He gave his all to every team he was on. Yes, he was appreciated, but not to the extent of being held onto by every possible means. His time in Team Spirit was stable but without any significant successes. Three months in MAD Lions turned out to be a waste of time. But then things got interesting.

Victor joined Natus Vincere and immediately won his first tier-1 trophy in his career. Then there were six months of inconsistency because he was still listed as a stand-in. In the end, sdy couldn't adapt to B1ad3's playstyle and moved to Monte. Together with Monte, they made a real breakthrough, transforming from a tier-2 team to a tier-1 team in a very short period.

Despite all the successes, a year later, sdy and Monte decided not to renew the contract. This decision remains a mystery to this day. Currently, Victor is looking for a new team where he can bring his colossal experience and stable level of play.
