The MongolZ secured victory and qualified for the Shanghai Major

This puts The MongolZ ahead of every team in proving that they belong in the echelons of the game, as their win granted them a place in the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. Besides advancing into the main event, this win made them the very first team to secure its place for sure in the championship meeting high competition and a risk of being eliminated. A successful comeback in the series against DRILLAS was a vivid demonstration of their skill and resilience.

In the esports world, where Asia often plays the role of an underdog, The MongolZ demonstrates that Asian teams can aim for the top in a discipline traditionally dominated by European and American teams. Their advancement to the Major strengthens the position of Asian Counter-Strike on the global stage and increases interest in regional teams.

Tough Battle and Comeback by The MongolZ

The MongolZ's path to the Shanghai Major began with a tense game on the Mirage map, chosen by their opponent, team DRILLAS. Despite a strong start by DRILLAS and their early lead of 10-2, The MongolZ, led by Techno4k, managed to nearly level the score. However, their efforts were not enough, and they lost with a narrow margin of 11-13.

After the defeat on the first map, The MongolZ were set on decisive actions and entered Ancient with full readiness. A very convincing 13-2 exposed their strength, with young gun mzinho shining especially as the team confidently closed out the map in their favor. The team continued to dominate on Anubis, first taking a commanding 10-2 lead before eventually winning the series 13-5 and taking home both the win in the matchup and a place at the Major.

Support and Opportunity for DRILLAS

Despite the loss, DRILLAS remain in the race, moving to the tournament's lower bracket. Tomorrow they will face FlyQuest in an elimination match, which will be their last chance to make it to the Shanghai Major. The battle promises to be no less intense, as a spot at the Major is not only prestigious but also an opportunity to represent the Asia-Pacific region on the world stage.

After the victory, The MongolZ left a message on X for DRILLAS and Asian teams. The Mongolian squad called for the Asian teams to protect their region, rise, and seize the opportunity to become stronger.
