Today, the last qualifiers before the Valorant Champions 2023 World Championship in the Pacific region came to an end. The Japanese team ZETA DIVISION emerged as the winner, defeating Team Secret in the grand finals with a score of 3-1.

Match breakdown

The first match took place on the Fracture map, which was chosen by ZETA DIVISION and it was a fierce battle. The Japanese, however, managed to justify their choice, albeit with some difficulty. The first half of the match was controlled by the ZETA DIVISION players, who took 7 rounds, giving away only 5. After swapping sides, the situation was repeated in favor of Team Secret, who also took 7 rounds giving the opponents 5. Everything was decided in overtime, where the Japanese players took 2 rounds in a row. The match ended with a victory for ZETA DIVISION with a score of 14-12.

 
 

Next, the teams moved to Ascent, which was chosen by Team Secret. Similar to the first map, the first half of the game was even and ended with a score of 6-6. After changing sides, Team Secret finally managed to demonstrate that they were the masters of the map and took 7 rounds, giving away only 3 to the opponents. The match ended with a victory for Team Secret with a score of 13-9.

 
 

The third map was Split, chosen by the Japanese players. They also validated their choice, dominating in the first half of the match, the teams switched sides when the score was 10-2 in favor of ZETA DIVISION. After switching sides, Team Secret seemed to be taking the initiative, but the gap was too large, and as a result, Laz and his team won the match with a score of 13-7.

 
 

The last map was Lotus and despite it being Team Secret's choice, the team's fans didn't get the desired result. Although the first half of the game was an even battle and ended with a score of 7-6. The second half was completely controlled by the Japanese team, who took the 6 rounds they needed. The match ended with a victory for ZETA DIVISION with a score of 13-6.

 
 

As a result of the match, Team Secret finishes the qualifiers as the silver medalist and heads home. In turn, ZETA DIVISION became the winners of the Pacific stage of the Last Chance Qualifier, receiving the long-awaited invitation to the main event of the year - Valorant Champions 2023.

The tournament journey of ZETA DIVISION

We named ZETA DIVISION the projected winner and it's not surprising. The Japanese team is a top-2 in their region and arrived at the qualifiers as the unanimous favorite, a title they successfully confirmed throughout the tournament. The players began their journey at the LCQ with a victory over Rex Regum Qeon with a score of 2-1, after which they effortlessly closed out their future opponents from Team Secret 2-0 in the upper bracket finals. When it became known that the latter won the lower bracket finals and would face ZETA DIVISION again, everyone already knew what result to expect.
