Sprout, Guild Eagles, Insilio, and AMKAL demonstrated their strength at the Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024: European Open Qualifier #1, securing seven consecutive victories in BO1 format. Now they will face off in decisive BO3 matches for a chance to advance to the Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024: European Qualifier.
These teams proved more resilient than many renowned teams that were eliminated in the earlier stages of the qualification. Notably, Preasy, ENCE, NIP, Into The Breach, and Apeks did not make it through. Surprisingly, NAVI Junior went far, overcoming Espionage and Copenhagen Wolves, but eventually lost to FTW.
Winners of the decisive matches will move on to the closed qualifier, where invited teams such as BetBoom, BIG, Eternal Fire, and Falcons await. Two more participants will be determined after the open qualifier, which takes place at the end of the month.
These competitions are an important step for each team on their way to IEM Chengdu 2024, to be held in China from April 8 to 14. The tournament will boast a prize pool of $250,000, with a top prize of $100,000 and a prestigious slot at IEM Cologne 2024.
