Mauisnake: "S1mple's career is nothing but disappointment"

Yesterday, a well-known American analyst and host, Alex Mauisnake Ellenberg, on a live broadcast on the Twitch platform, told why he considers the career of Natus Vincere’s sniper Olexander s1mple Kostylev a disappointment.

First, Mauisnake said that s1mple's career has been disappointing since he only won one Major. And this fact itself simply depresses the analyst.

You look at s1mple's career and regret that he didn't win more than one Major. S1mple's career turned out to be disappointing. This opens the door to the conversation about who is number 1. But why didn't the best player of all time in CS:GO achieve more and win only one Major?
Yes, he had some incredible finals. He reached the final even with the shaky NAVI lineup, but he did the same with Liquid at the beginning of his journey. This is incredibly impressive. But to see how the greatest player in the entire existence of this game took only one Major is depressing.

During his entire career, s1mple managed to visit 13 Major tournaments, and he could lift the cup above his head in only one. Namely at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 together with the Natus Vincere team.

  • ESL One Cologne 2016: At this tournament, s1mple represented Team Liquid. They reached the finals, where they played against SK Gaming but lost 1:2 and took second place.
  • ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017: s1mple continued to play for Team Liquid in this tournament. They reached the semi-finals, where they lost to the Astralis team with a score of 0:2, and in the end, took third place.
  • FACEIT Major: London 2018: s1mple has represented Natus Vincere at this tournament. They also reached the final, meeting Astralis, but lost 0:2 and took second place.
  • StarLadder Berlin Major 2019: Back in NAVI, s1mple and his team again reached the finals, where they played against Astralis. However, this time NAVI lost 0:2 and took second place.
  • IEM Katowice 2020: At this tournament, s1mple represented Natus Vincere. NAVI reached the finals, where they met with the G2 Esports team. However, NAVI lost 0:3 and took second place.
  • PGL Major Stockholm 2021: s1mple continued to play for Natus Vincere. They went through the group stage and playoffs and reached the final. In the final, the team met against G2 Esports, winning with a score of 3-0 and becoming the tournament champions.
  • PGL Major Antwerp 2022: And already at this championship, s1mple also reached the tournament finals but lost to the FaZe Clan with a score of 0:2.
  • Paris Major 2023: The last CS:GO major, but this tournament did not go well for Olexander, and he and his team did not even make it to the playoffs, taking 9-11 place.

The first half of the season on the professional stage for "born to be winners" is over. Most of the players in the lineup need valid US visas and, therefore, will miss the upcoming IEM Dallas 2023 and BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023. The next tournament for NAVI will be BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023, which will be held from July 13 to 23 in Copenhagen, Denmark, already after the break on the pro stage.
