Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev has been at the center of a scandal again, this time because he participated in a showmatch with his friends from Russia. While his country is being bombarded with missiles, and the last weeks are especially hard because almost every day people are killed and many are left without light because of the same shelling.
But s1mple doesn't seem to care about this and he plays with friends who live in russia and pay taxes there. Earlier, s1mple himself stated that he will not play in a team with four Russians because he will not be understood by Ukrainians, but participation in the showmatch does not embarrass him.

Permission to play showmatch
One of the main things is how he was given permission to play this match in the first place, there was supposed to be a similar match earlier but NAVI was banned from playing and it didn't take place. But apparently this time they gave him permission. Which is completely absurd if that's the case, but if it was done without them asking then even more questions for s1mple.
Community reaction
S1mple once again reminded that he lives in a parallel reality. I'm not surprised. It's a shame because he doesn't realize that he could have helped Ukraine tremendously. He could have been one of the loudest Ukrainian voices in the world. Along with Usik, Harlan, Svitolina.... But he blew it all. Fool
Didn't ask your buddies how they feel about the latest murders the Russians have committed? I saw more than 50 people killed in Poltava and a whole family in Lviv. You know how they feel about the war? Maybe they support the killing of Ukrainians? Ask, Sasha

Conclusion
The decision of s1mple to participate in this showmatch raises a lot of questions and resentment among both the Ukrainian community and his fans around the world. At a time when his home country is going through the hardest times, his participation in such an event with players from Russia looks not only inappropriate, but also insensitive.
