Oleksandr Kostyliev, known in esports as s1mple, has faced a wave of criticism from the Ukrainian public for his recent attendance at concerts by Russian rappers Kizaru and Morgenstern. These actions have caused significant discontent among fans and activists, especially in the context of the ongoing war waged by Russia against Ukraine.
On social media and on various platforms, the community has expressed outrage, arguing that attending such events is unacceptable and can be seen as supporting artists from the aggressor country. "It is absolutely unacceptable that our famous personalities, such as s1mple, attend and support cultural events of a country that is waging war against us," comments an activist of the Ukrainian community.
Critics point out that as a public figure, Oleksandr should be held accountable for his actions, which can influence public opinion and national interests. "Every step of such personalities is of great importance. Supporting Russian artists at this time is an indirect endorsement of Russia's actions," adds one fan.
In response to the criticism, s1mple spoke out on his telegram channel, where he tried to explain his position on attending concerts of Russian artists. He wrote:
It's cool to be friends with a foreign agent, no one can fuck with him, Alisher is top
With these words, he seems to have tried to emphasise the inviolability of his actions due to his friendship with influential personalities who have the status of a foreign agent. This statement only intensified the discussion in the public and among the media, where many considered such a reaction inappropriate and inappropriate given the seriousness of the situation in the country.
