Rumor: Valve Started Collecting Skins for the Anubis and Tuscan Collections

Valve is already preparing collections for new maps.

Dataminer GabeFollower reported that CS:GO developers started forming collections of Anubis and Tuscan skins about a week ago. Developers do not create skins from scratch but take ready-made works from the workshop.

Why are new collections necessary?

In the case of Anubis, the need for a collection is quite understandable - the Major will start in two months and feature souvenir sets for all maps in the tournament map pool. And the main innovation of BLAST.tv Paris Major will be an updated map pool compared to IEM Rio Major 2022. Anubis replaced Dust2, and now Valve needs a new collection of souvenir sets.

The collection for Anubis will be made with a desert theme. Everything is clear with the skins for Anubis, but why do the developers need the Tuscan collection?

Will Tuscan enter the competitive map pool?

GabeFollower's post is the second confirmation that Tuscan is on the verge of entering the CS:GO competitive map pool. For the first time, such information appeared among the lines of the CS database, in which it was written that recently Valve bought two maps - Anubis and Tuscan, for both of which the studio paid $150,000.

This means that the developers paid the same amount for the two maps, and the reward for getting the map into the game and the competitive map pool is different, so we can conclude that Valve plans to use Tuscan in the competitive map pool.

Now another rumor surfaced, confirming the imminent addition of the map to tournaments. If Valve is forming a Tuscan collection, then there are two ways to use it. The first is adding a collection to the pass of a new operation, and the second is using it in Major souvenir sets. Therefore, the addition of Tuscan to the tournament rotation is not imaginary.

However,this happens only after the upcoming Major or at the end of the year because the current map pool has yet to be used at any Major. Therefore, changing it twice would be a strange decision.
