Who would have thought that in 2025 we'd see Robin "ropz" Kool in a Vitality jersey? Yet, this is reality, and the debut of the Estonian star is set for tomorrow at the BLAST Bounty.
The move of ropz to Vitality became one of the most talked-about events in recent roster changes. This move altered the balance of power and introduced a new intrigue for fans. Can the revamped Vitality lineup reach a new height and instantly become title contenders?
How it Happened
Deciding to leave FaZe wasn't easy for ropz. He admitted that it took him a long time to make a decision, as he shared in a BLAST interview: "I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for at least six months. I had the conversation with FaZe and I knew they would like to keep me, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay or explore other options. I even had a break, but it didn’t feel like a break because I was stressing a lot on a personal level. In the end I decided I would like to move on and start a new page in both my life and career."
The last year with FaZe was mixed. The team reached two major finals, but there was a lingering feeling within the group that the potential wasn't fully realized. "I think we weren’t satisfied, we expected more. When you look at it on paper, two Major grand finals is a very big result, but inside the team we felt like we could have done more," said Robin.
New Challenge and Prospects
ropz's first impressions of the new team are extremely positive: "I’ve met the guys now, played some games with them and got some first impressions, and I think everything is very smooth. It’s going better than I expected. The people here are extremely good in and out of the server, so I feel like we can click as soon as possible and start winning." Vitality conducted a short bootcamp, and according to the player, the team chemistry is already at a high level. The team's debut with the new lineup will take place at BLAST Bounty, where their first opponent will be Metizport.
Looking to the Future
Among the roster changes, ropz also noted EliGE's move to FaZe. "Them getting EliGE will be very different to how they were with me, they’re getting a more aggressive player so I feel it will be very different as a result. I have no idea how their playstyle will be," he commented.
ropz himself hopes that his experience gained over the years with FaZe will help overcome possible difficulties and start winning immediately. "We’re going to Katowice expecting to win, and we’re going to go into many of the tournaments with the same expectation. We expect to win when it matters, and that’s why I’m here," he concluded.
Conclusion
ropz's transfer to Vitality is not just a high-profile move, but a new chapter in the career of one of the best players. His debut at BLAST Bounty will be the first test for the revamped Vitality lineup, and how they perform will determine not only their immediate future but also how the leaders at major tournaments may change.
