Riot Games pays little attention to the women's Game Changers Series

This claim was made by Melanie "meL" Capone, captain of the North American team Version1, on her Twitter account. According to her, there has been virtually no promotion in the media this year, compared to 2022.

Yesterday, Melanie criticized Riot Games for their lack of attention to this year's Game Changers series. She stated that she got into the competitive series when it was actively advertised and promoted in the media. This gave young players like her support and made it easier to break into the professional world.

The promotion and media coverage of Game Changers this year were absent compared to the past. I was lucky enough to go through GC at a time when event promotion really helped me secure a spot on the scene. I feel that many aspiring players now deserve the same opportunity.

This year, there are no promotional campaigns, and there is not even the usual press conference, which seems strange compared to previous years. This could be paralleled with the men's competitive season, where media promotion is in full swing. MeL notes that she is not ungrateful and does not ask Riot Games to take people out for shoots and create dozens of different videos and clips. Just give some of the attention it received last year.

I'm not asking Riot to take people out and shoot high-performance trailers every collection, like they did last year, but even the lack of press conferences for me is wild. Just this year there wasn't as much hype from the promo.

Remember, the competition in the Game Changers series continues. Events are expected in 3 regions: North and South Latin America and Brazil. The series will conclude with the women's world championship VCT 2023: Game Changers Championship, which will take place from November 28 to December 3.
