Earlier we have already written about the results of the opening matches of Group A, but let's see how the first day of the IEM Dallas 2024 ended in general.

Group A

In the upper bracket of the semifinals, 9z vs Liquid and G2 vs Vitality in a BO3 match fought for a slot in the playoffs. 9z and Vitality emerged victorious from these encounters, thus guaranteeing themselves a playoff spot, but there is still a playoff seeding match to be played between the two.

MOUZ vs Complexity and Falcons vs Monte in the lower round of the quarterfinals. The winners of these matches were Falcons and MOUZ, thus Complexity and Monte were eliminated from the tournament in last place.

The next matches in Group A are G2 vs MOUZ and Liquid vs Falcons, an elimination match to advance to the lower finals where one playoff slot is up for grabs.

Group B

The upper bracket of the quarterfinals featured matches such as FaZe vs. M80, Virtus.Pro vs. HEROIC, Spirit vs. FlyQuest and NAVI vs. BIG.

FaZe, Virtus.Pro, Spirit and NAVI were the winners of the matches. The next matches will be between these teams, namely FaZe vs. Virtus.Pro and Spirit vs. NAVI for a guaranteed place in the playoffs and an attempt to get out of the first place for better seeding.

In the lower bracket, M80 vs. HEROIC and FlyQuest vs. BIG will meet in the elimination match.

MVP of the day

MVP of the first day of the tournament was JDC from BIG team in the match against NAVI, even after losing 13-9, he was able to show a great individual game and got 8.4 rating.

Today we are still waiting for the upper semifinal matches of Group B, which will decide who will get a slot in the playoffs, as well as the decisive matches for the elimination in the lower bracket of the quarterfinals and the lower bracket of the semifinals in Group A.
