Counter-Strike 2 still doesn't have an official achievement system, but the community isn't going to wait around for the developers. One Reddit user has presented a selection of 24 potential achievements for CS2, complete with names, colorful icons, and humorous conditions for completion. The post has already garnered tens of thousands of likes, and players are flooding Valve with requests to implement the idea in the official version of the game.
The achievements cover everything from heroic moments to comical failures. For example, Just a dud involves defusing a bomb less than a second before it explodes, while I'm fine, probably involves winning a 1v5 situation after planting a bomb. Equally epic is Say hello to my little friend! — an ace with a Negev in a single round.
There is no shortage of irony: You think I'm made of money? is awarded for failing to defuse a bomb without a defuser, and Blind awareness is awarded for defusing a bomb under a flashlight. The community favorite is Maturity, for the classic “teb” over an opponent's body. And Weeeeeeee! can be obtained simply by falling from a height.
Among the achievements for Deathmatch are Feeling funny (for using a healthshot), I can quit whenever I want! (three healthshots in one life), or Utilityrism, which requires using all six types of utilities in one round.
Users are already creating their own versions of achievements in the comments and tagging developers to draw their attention to the post. On social media, the publication is being compared to the classic style of Valve trophies, and some are already printing icons on T-shirts.
Valve has not yet commented on the idea of adding an achievement system to CS2. At the same time, the popularity of fan initiatives of this level indicates a significant demand for content that motivates players to take non-standard actions and diversifies the usual gameplay.
It is quite possible that this work will be the impetus for the official introduction of achievements in CS2 — at least, the community is already ready.
