Ready for the Major - ZywOo becomes MVP of IEM Rio 2023

22-year-old Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut has been named the best player of IEM Rio 2023, in which his team, Vitality, took first place.

The Frenchman had an excellent tournament in terms of individual statistics. Despite being a sniper, he only ranked 15th in kills with the AWP. However, ZywOo himself recently stated that he is quite comfortable playing with automatic weapons.

This MVP medal is ZywOo's fourteenth in his career, with the previous one earned in October 2022 at ESL Pro League Season 16.

It is also worth noting the play of his teammate Spinx, among the players who reached the semi-finals, he took fourth place in rating (6.7) and second in headshots (0.41), second only to b1t in this category. With ZywOo's current form and having such a partner, Vitality can now be considered one of the favorites to win the upcoming home Paris Major.

IEM Rio 2023 took place from April 17 to 23. The total prize pool of the event was $250,000. In total, 16 teams participated in the competition. Detailed statistics of IEM Rio 2023, results, and prize distribution are available on the tournament page.
