Player Abused CS2 Economy by Leaving Server Voluntarily — Another Scandal at CCT Tournaments

A new conflict erupted at the CCT Season 2 Europe Series 20 Closed Qualifier. The player from RUSH B with the nickname tex1y intentionally disconnected from the server in the final seconds of the round, violating the tournament rules.

The situation occurred at the CCT Season 2 Europe Series 20 Closed Qualifier in the first match of the tournament for both teams, within the group stage. In this match, FAVBET managed to secure a victory on the map, and later in the match 2-1, thereby advancing to the next stage of the tournament, where they are now playing against ECSTATIC for a spot in the main stage.

On the first map of the match against FAVBET, tex1y left the server 3 seconds before the end of the round. This allowed avoiding a zero loss bonus for the saved weapon. The action violates section 7.1.11 of the CCT rulebook, which prohibits intentional disconnections without a valid reason and, in a way, exploits the CS economy system.

CCT reported that a major warning was issued to RUSH B for violating tournament rules. Additionally, the RUSH B organization condemned their player's actions, stating that they would take disciplinary measures against him.

Bondik, a player from FAVBET, suggested a radical solution: if an esports player disconnects without reason, their team should start the next round at a disadvantage. This would completely eliminate such abuses. CCT has not yet commented on the possibility of such changes.
