The second round of the group stage of PGL Astana 2025, which takes place from May 10 to 18 at Barys Arena, Astana, Kazakhstan, turned out to be intense. 16 teams are competing for a prize pool of $625,000 in the Swiss system format, where all matches are best-of-3. In this round, teams with a record of 1-0 and 0-1 fought to reach the playoffs or avoid relegation. 

GamerLegion 1-2 FURIA

(Anubis 9-13, Mirage 13-7, Nuke 9-13)

The Brazilians started confidently, competently controlling the space on Anubis. Although GL managed to respond with a strong game on Mirage, in particular thanks to REZ and Tauson, molodoy played a key role in closing the game on the decisive map. His consistent form gave the team peace of mind in clutch situations, and FURIA gained an important victory in the group.

Spirit 2-0 Ninjas in Pyjamas

(Train 16-13, Dust II 13-4)

It was a donk show. The young talent donk gave one of the most impressive individual performances of the tournament: 51 frags, 8.8 rating, 116 ADR. NiP tried to fight - sjuush had a decent game, but Dust II was a complete domination from Spirit. They closed the game with total control and didn't give NiP a single chance to come back. A lot of mistakes from NIP cost them the victory on Train.

Aurora 2-1 HOTU

(Mirage 13-9, Anubis 13-16, Nuke 13-11)

Aurora continues to show strong CS. Although they lost Anubis, thanks to a great game by mizu against HOTU, they pulled together and pressed on in the rest of the maps. It is especially worth noting XANTARES, who literally dragged the game on Nuke in key moments - 59 frags and clear coordination with the team.

G2 1-2 ODDIK

(Anubis 8-13, Dust II 13-3, Nuke 9-13)

A match that G2 were supposed to take, but things didn't go according to plan. Due to the absence of huNter-, the team was forced to reinforce the coach TaZ. Despite the history, it didn't help - Anubis and Nuke were completely under the control of ODDIK. Especially on Anubis, where ksloks took the game into his own hands and did not let go until the very end.

G2 looked good only on Dust II, when they got together and played according to the classic schemes. But that was enough for only one map. ODDIK played competently, looked like a team and confidently took the key rounds.
