The Chinese tournament operator Perfect World announced that it will host the second major in Counter-Strike 2. The event will take place in Shanghai in the second half of the year.

During the CS Asia Championships 2023 broadcast, it was announced that the second major in 2024 will be held in the Chinese city of Shanghai. The organization of the event will be managed by the tournament operator Perfect World. According to preliminary information, the event is scheduled to take place from December 1 to December 15, while the RMR qualifying tournaments are planned to be held from October 26 to November 13.

This will be the first major in Counter-Strike that will not take place in Europe or America. To date, 16 of the 20 announced majors were held in Europe, three in the USA, and one in Brazil.

Recall that the first major in Counter-Strike 2 will take place in Copenhagen. The PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 is scheduled for March 17 to March 31. The first open qualifiers for the tournament with a prize pool of $1,250,000 will start in January next year, which is less than two months away.
