The dates of invitations to Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 have become known

Perfect World has announced that on August 7th, the list of teams that have qualified for the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 will be revealed, based on the Valve ranking.

This news clarifies that the Esports World Cup and BLAST Premier Fall Groups are the last opportunities for teams to climb in the ranking, making each match potentially decisive. Interestingly, IEM Cologne, an important ESL event, will be outside the qualification window since it starts on August 8th.

Half of the RMR spots in each region - Europe, America, and Asia - will be filled based on regional rankings. The remaining spots will be contested in closed qualifiers, making the matches worth watching. Qualifiers will begin on August 21st in Europe and Asia, and on August 26th in North and South America. It is assumed that these early qualifiers were scheduled to ensure that teams qualifying for the tournament do not face issues obtaining Chinese visas.

This year, the path to the Major has significantly changed, as the open qualifying tournaments in Europe and America have been canceled. Teams must now rely solely on the Valve ranking system to secure their places in the RMR and the tournament itself.
