Perfect World, the tournament organizer for the upcoming Shanghai Major 2024 in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), has officially unveiled the list of teams invited to the closed qualifiers for the Regional Major Rankings (RMR) events. These qualifiers will determine which teams advance to the prestigious Shanghai Major, one of the most anticipated events in the CS2 esports calendar.
Regional Breakdown:
Europe:
- The European region boasts the largest number of invited teams, with 32 squads set to compete for a spot in the Major. Notable teams include Cloud9, ENCE, BIG, B8 Esports, Nemiga Gaming, GamerLegion, Monte, OG, TSM, and Bleed Esports. Cloud9's invitation comes with additional excitement as they radded Perfecto back to the roster , bolstering their roster and increasing their chances of success in the qualifiers. The European qualifiers will be held online from August 21 to August 24.
North America:
- In North America, 15 teams have been invited to the closed qualifiers. Among them are NRG, nouns Esports, Wildcard Gaming, Legacy, and Party Astronauts. These teams will battle it out for a chance to secure their place at the Shanghai Major. The North American qualifiers are scheduled to take place online from August 26 to August 28.
South America:
- The South American region will see 16 teams competing in the qualifiers. The South American qualifiers will also be held online, running from August 26 to August 28.
Asia-Pacific:

Some of the top contenders include TYLOO, Chinggis Warriors, Rare Atom, and Mindfreak. The Asia-Pacific qualifiers will be conducted online from August 25 to August 30.
