Patch 7.02 for Valorant Released - Full Update Review

Patch 7.02 for Valorant Released - Full Update Review

Riot Games is actively preparing its shooter for the upcoming world championship, aiming to make the game more comfortable for both viewers and professional players. One aspect of the preparation is the new 7.02 patch, which added a new section to the Valorant client and fixed several old bugs related to Deadlock.

Esports Hub

The first and main news of the update is the appearance of the Esports Hub in the game. This is a new section in the main menu, where all the information about the upcoming Valorant Champions 2023 will be available.

It consists of three subsections with the schedule, tournament grid, and players from each of the 16 participating teams.

First mentions of the new section were found by dataminers a few weeks ago, and later this information was confirmed by Riot Games. Although the Esports Hub appeared before the current championship, it will remain in the game and will provide all the information on future tournaments in 2024.

New Player Rating and Analysis System

The update also begins to implement a new system of analysis and punishments for toxic statements in the game chats. Until now, the system was only used on North American servers, but now it is fully ready for implementation in all regions. The game developers continue their fight against negative statements, making everything possible to ensure players have a comfortable time in Valorant. You can read more about the new system in our material. Also, with patch 7.02, players who are blocked in the team voice chat cannot communicate in the group chat.

Bug Fixes

Developers have fixed dozens of different bugs and errors. We won't tell about all of them; you can find them on the official Riot site. We will only inform about a known bug related to the game's latest character - Deadlock. We wrote about him recently. Thanks to Deadlock's ultimate ability, it was possible to instantly kill the enemy Omen and deal more than 900,000 damage, resulting in automatically receiving the most post-match points and the MVP title. The bug was highlighted by a known streamer, after which it spread widely in the game community, so it's no surprise that Riot quickly fixed it. Now, if Omen falls under the effect of Deadlock's ultimate during his own ultimate, the ability will automatically stop and the aforementioned effect will not occur.

We remind you that Valorant Champions 2023 starts in 3 days, so most likely we will not see new updates before the start of the championship. To not miss all the details, keep following our portal.
