On July 18, 2023, Valve released a major update for CS2, which included the revised Overpass map. By adding the raw map to the game, the developers effectively destroyed players' weak computers.
Reddit users conducted FPS investigations and found that FPS on Overpass in CS 2 is almost 60% lower than in CS:GO.
The average FPS on Overpass in CS 2 is 390 frames, while under similar conditions CS:GO provides 724 frames. Results may vary depending on the system!
But that's not the most interesting part. A certain user with a weak PC threw an HE into the water on the monster, after which his computer basically exploded. The fan speed increased and a million errors popped up, after which the video just cuts off.
Previously, an FPS test was also conducted on all maps in CS2:

- Office — 488 FPS
- Vertigo — 442 FPS
- Dust 2 — 437 FPS
- Mirage — 428 FPS
- Nuke — 409 FPS
- Overpass — 390 FPS
It should be noted, results may vary from system to system!
It's worth mentioning that Overpass was the first map that was somewhat revised compared to the CS:GO version. It has changed significantly in appearance, but the difference in gameplay has not become much more substantial. Inferno, another significantly revised map, might be added within a month.
