Outsiders Are the Champions of IEM Rio Major 2022

IEM Rio Major 2022 has ended, and the new champions have already made their nicknames in the history of esports.

The Outsiders beat Heroic with a score of 2-0 in the tournament final. All five players became Major champions for the first time. In addition to the champions title, Outsiders took home $500,000 and slots to the BLAST Premier World Final and IEM Katowice 2023.

The prize fund among the teams that made it to the playoffs was distributed as follows:

• 1st place ($500,000) - Outsiders
• 2nd place ($170,000) - Heroic
  
• 3rd-4th place ($80,000) - FURIA, MOUZ
  
• 5th-8th place ($45,000) - NAVI, Cloud9, Fnatic, Spirit
  

The Major was held in Rio from October 31 to November 13, and 24 teams contested the total prize pool of $1.25 million.

Outsiders also joined the race for the championship in the fourth season of the Intel Grand Slam. The team has one title out of the four required, along with Cloud9 and Vitality, while FaZe has three.
